I absolutely loved designing this brand new website for debut author, Diane Zinna. The cover of Diane’s novel, THE ALL-NIGHT SUN, is stunning, with a gorgeous color palette and lots of rich texture. Diane wanted a site that matched.

THE ALL-NIGHT SUN is a work of literary fiction, and deals with serious topics such as grief and loneliness, so the site also needed to convey gravitas. I decided to add in some blue, some texture, and use a blue/gray accent color so that the site wasn’t too overwhelmingly pink and purple. I wanted to showcase the painting of the girl on the Home page, but ran into problems when I sat the book cover image on top of it — too much girl. So I decided to feature the painting of the girl as a clean, full-screen image, with a space for testimonials, and sit the book cover below. I hope the texture of the site reflects the richness of Diane’s book, beautiful and multi-layered.
