When Liz Lurie sent me a handful of photos of her earring designs, I knew I HAD to design her website. Liz handcrafts earrings using petals and leaves from flowers, and her designs are gorgeous and one-of-a-kind. I have no idea how she does what she does, it must be a painstaking process, but the results are elegant, delicate, colorful, and unique. Which is what I wanted her portfolio website to be.
Because Liz doesn’t consider herself terribly tech-savvy, I looked into building her site using both SquareSpace and Wix. In the end, neither of these offered the amount of control I wanted to get the typography, colors, layout, and functionality just right. So I returned to using some of Elementor Pro’s great features for WordPress and the site seemed to design itself.
Liz has been able to manage the site herself, and she included this in one of her emails: “Thank you so so much! I don’t think anyone could have done a better job. My dearest friend saw it and said, ‘it’s as if she knows you!'” Which is just about the best compliment a designer can get. There’s nothing I love more than helping an artist showcase her work to the world.
